What Is Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation for hair loss—also called scalp micropigmentation—is a nonsurgical treatment that uses a tiny, fine needle to embed pigment into the skin to create the illusion of hair follicles or eyebrows. Cosmetic tattooing, as it’s also known, can hide unsightly scars when performed by highly trained and experienced practitioners such as those at T3 Hair Preservation.

Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp hair follicle simulation tattoo (SHFST) creates the appearance of a full head of closely shaved hair. Besides being an excellent solution for men who are essentially bald, both men and women who cannot undergo hair replacement procedures can also simulate the appearance of thicker hair.

Eyebrow Restoration

Micropigmentation for Scar Camouflage

Micropigmentation is extremely effective at camouflaging scars. We specialize in concealing the appearance of scars that result from “strip” method hair replacement surgery. How Long Do the Results of Scalp Micropigmentation Last?

Scalp micropigmentation results last approximately 2 to 4 years before the pigment begins to fade and a touch-up is needed. Consistent sun protection, such as wearing a hat and using sunscreen with at least SPF 30, can help your results last as long as possible.  

Eyebrow Micropigmentation vs. Microblading

While both are semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement and restoration procedures, eyebrow micropigmentation and microblading have some important differences. Here is a comparison.
